My dishwasher has had a metallic smelll coming from the control panel over the past month. Finally, in the middle of a wash cycle, the machine just stopped like it lost power. The circuit is live and the panel does not respond to any buttons. Any suggestions? Should I replace the control panel fuse and see what happens? How do I tell if it went bad? Thank you.

M,

Based on your post,

The control panel fuse would be a good place to start.

Part number: AP3178588
Part number: AP3178588

If you have a multimeter, you can check for a closed(infinite resistance) circuit across the terminals of the fuse(it is a one shot/ throw away component) before you order and replace the part.

But it does sound like it has opened up.

:) :) :)
