everything works except will not agitate. agitator turns freely by hand and wobbles from side to side. if agitator needs replaced how do i remove it? i dont know how to work on a washer

Does the motor run during agitation?
Remove the front panel and check the belt.

The agitator Drive Bell has failed, Get your hands under the agitator and lift it out of the washer,(may require MUSSLE) the white piece in the center of the tub is the part that you neen to replace, The splines on the inside are stripped!!!!

hello, hopefully I'm doing this right. My whirlpool washer(agitator)I think thats what they call the center white piece that suppose to spin, bottom part spins, but the top does not. The cloths just sits there on top the water not being pulled down to get washer. I pulled the whole thing out,but not sure if I have to replace the whole white part of just an internal piece. Help me lol..

trin, your need to replace your agitator dogs. Cheap fix!! Whirlpool part number 80040. Nat

Agitator dogs. Is that the piece inside to agitator with the teeth.?? About how much does that part run? Thanks for your help libert.

How did this post go from a GE washer to a Whirlpool???? Check the Model# on the first post!!!!!!!!!!! Thats a GE M#!!!!!!!

Yes it is and someone else with a Whirlpool had a simular problem. No big deal.
