I have a whirlpool dryer model# lec7848dq1. It has 3 running modes: Timed Drying, Fluff Air, and Electronic dry miser. It runs in the first 2 modes, but not in dry miser. Am I correct in assuming the timer control is NG? Perhaps the miser mode contact is burnt out as we use that mode the most?

Put the timer in the Electronic dry miser mode, unplug the dryer, open the control panel, remove the red wire from the timer and check for continuity across the "R" and "B" timer terminals. If there is no continuity then replace the timer. - The part number for the timer is AP2973903 Here are the break down diagrams for the Whirlpool dryer Model LEC7848DQ1Gene.

Well, it was the timer after all. The new timer is in, and all is well. Thank you for the info!

I'm glad you were able to fix it.
Gene.
