Well i did some investigation why the frig part was getting warm. I opened up the panels from inside the freezer. There's a build up of frost all over the coils.
I looked at the defrost heater kit that rests at the bottom of the coil. The inside of it is somewhat black? Does that mean it's burnt out and needs replaced? I'm not sure how to check continuity on this.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
Jim

Discoloration is a sign of a burnt out heater. The replacement now comes with two elements in the assembly for more effeciency. Part number: AP4355467

Another quick question regarding this. Is it possible to have a bad thermostat and defrost heat at the same time? I can't locate the thermostat.
Should i go ahead and order a new thermostat as well?
