My Friend has a old Kenmore washer 80 Series Ultra Fabric Care and it only agitates but won't spin out the water.What could the problem be.I believe this unit has no belt and I need some help in order to help her fix it.:confused:

The pump mounts on the motor. The motor pumps out the water. It won't pump or spin if the lid is open. Check the lid switch. Here is a picture of a broken lid switchSpeed switch for kenmore.jpg

Unplug the lid switch quick plug as pictured
Check the 2 outer connectors for continuity. With the lid shut the switch should have continuity. If it is open it is bad. To access the switch simply pop those brass S-clips and tip the outer case forward.
