We have a Kenmore unit with the ice dispenser in the door. We no longer get ice and water just trickles out of the water dispenser. I have looked for a filter, but it does not appear the unit has one and there is not an external one installed. Any suggestions of things to look at?

Sounds mainly like the water valve AP3085178 is the problem. I don't know the condition of your water, but that may (particulates) have clogged the valve to both the ice water and the ice maker. A water filter is definately something you may want to install also. You may want to checkk the condition of your ice maker, sometimes bad water can mess them up too.
