I have a 6 year old Jenn-Air side-by-side refridge model JCD2389DTB. It works great for a while then goes warm inside for a long period of time (food goes bad in refridge and frozen stuff thaws). When I unplug it and let it sit empty with doors open for at least a day then later power it back up it works fine again for a while ... for maybe a year, maybe a month, but lately a week or so and decreasing. Any one have any clues? f.licata@comcast.net

When the refrigerator starts acting up do you hear it making a clicking noise?
Do you notice any frost build up on the inside back freezer wall when it stops cooling?

No noises noted. I didn't look but there may be some frost because the floor gets a puddle of water on it after I unplug it.

Watch the back wall for frost build-up. You should never see any.
If you do then you have a defrost problem.

Thanks alot for your help. I was just reading a thread on this very topic over at applianceguru.com and it seems that I have a bad adaptive defrost control board, which I understand is very common for the brand "Junk"-Air.

Yeah, they have some trouble with them. Over all Jenn-Air is good stuff.

I just removed the adaptive defrost control board and the cheezy 10amp contacts on the compressor relay are stuck closed. That's why it was running 24/7/365 and also why my electric bill skyrocketed. The board is made by Siebe Appliance Controls, and the board revision is from 1996.
