Clothes are still heavy after spin cycle is completed.I would like to try to repair it myself,but have never worked on a washer before.

Go to www.applianceaid.com for disassembly info. Pull off the pump and motor and turn the tranny coupler clockwise till the spin basket just starts to turn. If hard to turn the coupler with one thumb and forefinger, you have something jamming the spin basket, or dragging brake shoes. If bad brake shoes, you probably also have a worn clutch.
