Gene,
I too am having the E6 F2 error message on a Whirlpool Double Oven (MOD RBD305PDB8) in my rental property.
As I read in this thread I turned off the breaker, removed the control panel, unplugged the ribbon cable, reinstalled control panel (with cable still unplugged) and turned the breaker back on.
This resulted an F2-E1 error (which I think is expected). Sometime overnight it reverted back to the E6-F2 error.
From reading this thread it appears that this means the control board is likely bad. Is that correct? Is the control board replacement something the average DIYer can do without any special tools?

Yes, sounds like the control board has gone bad. This part is not too difficult to replace yourself. You can find the instructions in this thread as well. - The control board Part number: AP3767567

I also have double Whirlpool Oven model GBD307PDS7 with F2 E6 code. I checked and cleaned the ribbon still same problem. I also checked for continuity on low voltage transformer and that was ok. I checked for 120VAC between P16-5 and P16-7 and that was ok. Not sure what else I can check. Should I replace the panel or the board? I did notice that there is some discoloration around a couple of the components towards the top of the board unit and one of the components towards the right side of the board. Thanks.

Karen,
The "F2-E1" error code means the control senses that the key pad is not connected to the control board which is normal because you had disconnected it.
The problem most likely is a bad control panel. If you need the correct part number then post the color of it.

Gene. Wow! Thanks so much for responding, Gene. My ovens have a black control panel with stainless fronts. (Model #RBD305PDS14) So, maybe AP3131744? Anything in particular to watch for when installing? Thanks so much for your expertise! karen

You know, it's funny, when I first took the control panel off, the ribbon cable seemed to be disconnected from the clip that holds it in place. I reconnected it, which did nothing, but how odd, seing that it had been working fine, and no one had ever been inside before. Oh well, I've ordered the part. Hopefully I can install properly without any drama! Thanks again! karen
