The tab on the ice dispenser door, which hold the spring pin is broken. Will the ice dispenser kit fix it as the broken tab seems to be on the housing itself.

I had the same problem and I fixed it my self. Just take control panel off, then unplug and unsnap white cover lift it and get out of the way. Then you will need help, somebody to hold spring loaded shutter pin in place. Slide pin as far to the right as possible. Then take 2 small galvanized drywall screws and 1 small washer. Install first screw with washer under pin making sure it does not interfear with any moving parts screw it in as tight as possible, then install other screw on top of the pin, that will hold pin in place and I guarantee you will never have a problem with the ice shutter again. Let me know how it goes.

Thanks! will give it a try but for now I have already improvised by sticking the broken bit with epoxy after removing the the dispenser door and all. I let the epoxy dry for a few days and replaced everything back. Till now the spring holds on becuase I put a fat layer of expoxy . Lets see for how long... ! :)
