i purchased this washer used 5 months ago and has been running great until today. i ran it and a while later i checked back on it and there was water in it but it would not drain. so i did an internet search on this issue and it stated it was either a clogged sewer hose or the water pump. so i diagnosed that it wasn't the sewer hose (external) and is probably the water pump. but just for giggles i tried running the spin cycle (with the lid closed and the unit plugged in of course) and it would not spin nor run. so i wonder if the motor blew since the water pump is motor driven?? i don't think it's the dials or anything as it does fill up with water if i tell it to. ideas? :confused: thanks in advance.

FEDERI : It sounds like your lid switch is not being actuated. It acts as if the lid was open. In some cases if you press down hard on the lid and it spins, it may just be a bent arm on the hinge hook that actuates the lid switch under the panel. its either the bent hinge hook or the lid switch it sounds like.

techray you are a good one.... i looked and the lid switch is completely burnt out. there is black residue everywhere. the terminal melted to the lid switch. i was able to disconnect the two, is there a way i can just bypass the lid switch?? thanks

it is not recommended to bypass a lid switch, as it is a safety feature that stops the machine from spinning when the lid is opened. It is best that you replace the lid switch and avoid any possible injury and have the unit work the way it is designed. The lid switch is not very expensive nor hard to replace. Most parts Distributors have that part in stock. If you need assistance in replacing the switch please feel free to reply. Id rather see you do that then bypass something that could create another issue. The part number for the lid switch that you need is 818084. The lid switch as you probably already know is under the control panel on the left hand side.
