My washer runs good in the wash cycle, drains properly but leaves the clothes soaking wet. It will only spin if empty or manually assited to start the spin by pressing the lid switch and turning the tub. It doesn't seem to spin fast enough however because the clothes are not pressed against the tub as normal when its done. I did remove the coupler and had it checked by a tech he said it looks fine. He told me it may be the transmition and I am better off buying a new washer. The transmition is leaking a little oil.

I think it is much more likely that the clutch is the problem. I would install a new clutch kit, and also since you have the transmission out to do that I would put in a new seal and top it up with 90 wt oil.

That should fix you up.
