Hello, The number/control pad on this microwave is not functioning at all. First the stop/clear button went and we were using the preset/timed buttons. Then they all stopped working. Any chance of resurrecting this?
Thanks!

Most likely the problem is a bad key pad. Unfortunately I'm not able to provide more accurate advise because the model number you posted does not come up.

hi Gene, i have a similar problem with my whirlpool gold model # gh7155xkt. the control panel takes the numbers fine, but I have to hold down the start button to go...once I release, it stops although it has plenty of time left. When I look up the part list, it shows that only two thinkgs can go bad:1) key membrane #4 or 2) microcptr #5. Can you help me on this. Also, I saw the video about changing the door panel..is it the same way to change either of above. thanks a million.
Ed

Hi Ed, Most likely the problem is a bad control board (aka microcomputer). The video you mention should help you too. - The part number for the control board is AP3118834 Here are the break down diagrams for the Whirlpool microwave Model GH7155XKT0Gene.

I have the same issue. I called whirpool, but they were no help. So I opened the control panel and tested the keypad using multimeter. For me, the keypad tested fine, so most likely the circuit board (microcomputer) is bad. Will be ordering the board soon.
Opening the control panel is easy: Just remove top 2 screws to remove the exhaust panel. Then remove the one screw that holds the control panel. The door must be open to get the panel out. The connected wires will need to be removed to check the keypad. I found a bundled up instruction note inside the panel that explains how to test the keypad.
Remove the circuite board that is held in place with 3 retaining screws. Pull the blue connector that connects the keypad to the circuit board, the connector may need a little pressure on the side to unlock it. The connector does not disconnect, but only unlocks the strip connection. Simply pull the strip to get it out.
See the instruction note kept in the control panel to test for keyboard.
Hope this helps.
Note: unplug the microwave before doing all this! and remember the orientation of connections!
