I don't know anything about microwaves. Trying to fix this problem cheaply if possible. I don't know what the part is called thats making the sparks. when I took the air vent off the top. Its right there on the right side. I just took it apart and there is one plug going to this part and two smaller plugs on the bottom. the top plug is burnt. the part has DAEVOO RM1228 60303AD JF P CAUTION HIGH VOLTAGE MICROWAVE RADIATION
This part is setting on another box with some type of grill with a shaft coming out the bottom

This part is setting on another box with some type of grill with a shaft coming out the bottom Microwaves are probably most dangerous home appliances to work with. Seems like the part you described is a magnetron - the part which actually creates microwaves. The part itself will cost you more than $80. If the microwave channel in the body of the microwave is damaged due to arcing - it's not repairable at all. I would recommend just to replace the whole microwave. They are not expensive today. Gene.
