Hi,
The serial number is D54500EBOWW. It is GE Select Dryer.

I thought I would talk to you guys first before we call a repair man.

The dryer makes a loud pinging sound, like something is rubbing around the drum. It takes forever to dry clothes.

I clean out the lint collector before each load. Can you help me? I appreciate your help.

Sincerely,
Karen Woolhiser

We bought a new dryer based upon the hourly pay of an appliance repair person and the parts. We are never going to buy another GE product. They are cheaply made and don't last... I bought a Maytag dryer to match my Maytag Washer.:)

Sorry for not responding sooner. Not that it matters now, but it may have been a bad rear drum bearing.

Congrats on the purchase. GE makes good engines, or so I've heard. Not the same with appliances though.
