My ice maker inlet tube did not freeze up for 4 years, now it has frozen up 4 times in the last 5 days. Take a hairdryer to it and a round chunk of ice comes out and it will make ice for a while till it freezes again.

Any Ideas?

Thanks

If the tube is freezing up, it's due to the water solenoid leaking "through" when not energized.

You will need to replace the ice maker water solenoid valve to fix your problem. Good luck

I had just about figured that out. It has stopped freezing up so I wonder if there was a small piece of trash or something not letting the solenoid seat properly.

If the water solenoid was leaking it would overflow the icemaker mold.
Most common problem is freezer is too cold due to condenser coils clogged, or other problems. Measure the back freezer wall temperature and post.

Thanks, new one on order. I'm sure now that's the fix.
