Whirlpool Dryer, model LGR5636JQ0 Age: 8 years Basic Problem: Timer does not advance, appears to be no heat. Drum does turn. More Details: Auto Dry / High Heat Cycle: Timer does not advance. No heat. Timed Dry Cycle: Timer DOES advance. No heat Fluff Air Cycle: Timer does not advance. This is a no heat cycle. Auto Dry / Low Heat Cycle: Timer does not advance. No heat. I'm going to follow the advice & steps I found in this post: http://forum.appliancepartspros...3-no-heat-gas-dryer.htmlBut I'm wondering if anyone has other advice. I'm a beginner, but determined to do at least some basic troubleshooting / repair on my own. Thanks!

We tested the 5 different elements and I'm wondering if anyone can shed some light on what we found. I THINK that based on this, I might need to replace the Thermal fuse and the cycling thermostat, but I'd like to know if I'm headed in the right path. So, again, going from post: http://forum.appliancepartspros...gas-dryer.html#post127641) Thermal Fuse - reading was 55 2) Cycling Thermostat. Here's where we're a little confused. There are 4 wires connected to this thing. Let's call them North East South and West. North and South have red wires East and West have purple wires We were unsure what combination we needed to test here, so we did it all: North + West - reading was 003 North + East - reading was 1 North + South - reading was 0001 South + West - reading was 002 South + East - reading was 1 East + West - reading was 1 3) Ignitor - reading was 060 4) Flame Sensor - reading was 002 5) Gas Valve Flame Coils The coil with 2 terminals - reading was 1292 The coil with 3 terminals across the left + middle - reading was 1397 The coil with 3 terminals across the left + right - reading was 567 Thanks again, for any help.
