Have Roper RT18HDXDW05 that makes a "clunking" noise at the end of each cycle. Is this bad? How bad? Checked all under the hood and nothing seems to be loose.

Is this bad? Yes
How bad? Real bad!!! Your compressor is on it's last legs. Often this is a spring that has broken in the compressor. They may run for quite a while like this as long as you can put up with the racket. Problem is you can no longer trust it and if it ends up costing you a couple hundred dollars in food, it is not worth the gamble. Turn it into a beer fridge then all you can loose in the freezer is ice cubes. |
