My detergent dispenser stopped working about a year ago and I finally decided to take off the front panel to see what I could find. I found the relay that activates the lever to release the dispenser door and it has a big "bubble" in it. Looks like some of the windings shorted causing heat which "bubbled up" and melted.

Wondering if anyone can direct me to a part number to replace this relay. I tried the "parts search" on this site but my model number doesn't show up.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks.

Andy

If you can find a parts dealer then take the relay out and bring it to the store with you. A good parts dealer should be able to track down a replacement and you will have the old part as a reference. just tape up the wires if you are worried about them shorting out, it shouldn't matter if the part is in there it hasn't been working for a while anyway.

Hi Andy,

Whirlpool does not sell a separate parts for the soap dispenser. You have to buy the whole dispenser assembly. Good thing is - it's not very expensive.

- The part number for the dispenser is AP3776575

Thanks for the link! The rinse aid hasn't been working either, now I know why.

Gene,

It has been a while but thanks again for the help!

I purchased and replaced the soap dispenser (AP3776575 ) you specified and tested the washer only to find it still didn't work. I opened up the control panel and found that a TRIAC on the PCB was burned out so I got a replacement. Still no luck.

I'm thinking if the the whole board isn't too expensive I'll just replace it rather than troubleshoot the board w/o a schematic. Any idea on this part number or price?

Thanks,

Andy
