I have an older Maytag stacked washer/dryer LSE7806ACE that has been very reliable. Just a few weeks ago, the washer stopped working while the dryer still worked fine. It turned out to be a bad lid switch and fuse. I replaced both and the washer worked good as new. Today I was washing a fairly heavy load that went off-balance causing the machine to stop. I rebalanced the load but it wouldn't restart. I read that an unbalanced load can blow the lid switch, so I checked both of the lid switches again and also the fuse and all test good. The washer does not respond in any cycle and has some sitting water. I don't know what else to check.

PatAMcD, the lid arm lever may need to be checked to ensure that it is activating the lid switch properly. If it is not, it may have become bent and would need to be corrected.
