I have an element that when turning on, will only operate at max temperature with no regulation at lower temps, so I'm certain I have a bad element switch.
I bought a new element switch for my Jennair downdraft stove (same exact part number and even the same rev letter), but when replacing the switch, trying to use the element does nothing, no heat at all, the element light turns on, but that's it.
We had purchased another element switch before the only thing that the rev. letter was different (A vs C specifically), and because that didn't work, assumed it was because it was a Rev issue...but after buying the 2nd there's something wrong. Looking for any help or advice please!
Thanks in advance.

Thank you for your question. Without knowing which element is being affected, testing the switch would be the next step. With the appliance power supply turned off or power cord unplugged, the switch can be tested for continuity while in the on position. For a single coil switch, terminal L1 would be tested to H1 while L2 would be tested to H2. In the case of a dual coil switch, terminal P1 would be tested for continuity to terminal 4 and terminal 4a while the terminal P2 would be tested to terminal 2. If there is not continuity at either tested set, the switch is faulty. If there is continuity at all test sets, the failure could be in wiring.
