Just recently replaced the defrost thermostat, and thought all was well.

Then the circulation fan in the freezer began starting and stopping intermittently, and the temps on both sides were above settings.

I put it on max cool, and while the refrigerator side cools down to the 38 setting, the freezer only gets down to about 18.

If I take it out of max cool, both sides show a bit higher temps.

Not sure if I am expecting it to get down to normal too soon, as it's been running about7 hours since the repair. Who knows?


The other odd thing is that the partition between the two side, the metal facing where the door seals make contact when closed is always kind of hot, and I never noticed this before.

Is that normal?

KKellyNC, does the condenser fan in the compressor section cut on and off as well? Also, are the condenser coils clean?
