Thanks: 1 times
I have 30" Bosch gas cooktop. It has 1 big, 2 medium, 1 small burners.
I need to replace igniters on all 4 burners. All burners have same size hex nut in center.
I bought a 20mm socket and could open 2 medium burners. The nut on the big burner seems stuck and does not turn. How can I open this nut? spraying with wd40 did not help.
Also, the small burner is quite small and there's not enough space around the nut for socket to fit. Is there another tool I can use to open the small burner?

Stevekauss, as WD40 was used and is flammable, there is not much that can be done aside from cutting the piece out. If WD40 had not been used and gas was able to come through the orifice, a flame could have been ignited long enough to heat the metal. Once heated for a minute, a channel lock could have been used to remove the burner head down to the hex nut, and a damp cloth placed in the center tube to cool the venturi and cause it to "shrink". This would have allowed the threads to turn loose.
