my brother called me to help change out the seal and the tube shaft and bearings. he gave me this model and serial for the whirlpool cabrio 580 washer
model wtw7600xw1 s# c10370103
i entered that model andon appliance parts for this model it has no shaft or seal so i guess i'm confused as i found a bunch of YT that show replacing these parts. he went to the local appliance parts store and they sold him the parts so they must be in the machine.

anyway changing it for me is going to be easy but in all the YT they show putting the seal in so the cup faces up. now in my 50 years of machine repair i never put a seal in with the cup facing away from the grease. or the bearings. it seems to me the cup needs to be down. now i will double check how the seal comes out but just in case this part has been replaced before and installed wrong i want to make sure the direction he cup goes. i say down facing the grease and bearings.

thanks
