This dryer was sold to me for scrap price by the owner who complained of a noise during drum rotation and the cause could not be found. I removed the drum and checked for problems with the drum support wheels/ and could not detect any significant wear of these bearings or wheels. Since there was no problem noted I decided to take the tumbler bars out of the drum one at a time and check for foreign material inside them. The first two had the usual lint balls inside but the third one had two coins inside which rattled around during rotation creating a significant noise. One was a 25 cent coin and the other was a 10 cent coin. They had been in side quite a while as they were worn very smooth. The unit was put back together and it ran smooth with no noise. Maybe someone will benefit from this noise troubleshooting idea.
