As the headline and details state, I need to remove the control panel to access the dispenser switch for testing and likely replacement. Instead of engaging the water or ice dispenser immediately, there is a 3-5 second delay. That's not normal (or, certainly wasn't until 2 days ago).

Major question is where are the retaining clip/tabs that hold this unit in? I've seen other styles of this by LG and Kenmore where the techs say "it's normal to break the tabs..." I'd like to avoid that!!

The switch failed at 5 years and 2 months. Is there a non-OEM switch from a better manufacturer I could substitute?

Thanks a ton. Oh yea, 5 years and 2 months is 2 months too late for our extended warranty :(
