My husband died 3 years ago. He was the half of us who fixed appliances. At 73, I am working on taking over his job. (So far, I have repaired my stove.) Youtube helps. My huge Frigidaire upright freezer FFU2064DW1 started smelling like burning plastic the other day, but I could detect no discernible change in its freezing ability. Fearing a fire, I unplugged it and emptied it. The back panel does not screw on to remove. All the parts are down at the bottom, although I can periodically hear (when I plug it back it for a bit) a raggedy noise coming from about halfway up the back. Something does come on and runs with a steady hum -- I presume the compressor. How do I diagnose what might be wrong? (I am presuming a fan, but I cannot see something that isn't working properly.) When I plug it back in, I still smell the burning smell, but I can see no moving parts.

Model FFU2064DW1

Thanks!

Sharlene

(Also, on this "Post" screen, there is no button for attaching files from my computer, as the "Help" section says there should be. Only a button for inserting a URL. How do I attach my own photos? Thank you!)
