Kitcheaid kgsc308lss gas range. Developed a faint odor of gas (propane) after replacing the Valve & Regulator Assembly WP9755424 / AP6013929.

Second time valve was replace. First valve, from another vendor, came in damaged and was replaced. Replacement was installed and after a bit, began noticing a slight odor again. Found a small bubble would form at the orifice for pipe to the oven. The vendor apparently was done, refunded my purchase price and told me to please go elsewhere.

So, here we are, ordered the valve from Appliance Parts Pros and seemed good for a week or so, then began thinking the odor was back. Could not find a leak, anywhere. I've now tried several times to determine if there is a leak, but cannot find one.

It happens I am doing a bit of work in the kitchen so have occasion to shut of gas and move the oven, sometimes not connected for days. With the gas off I never notice any odor. The valve is right at where the flex line hooks up. I have tried soaping up the flex line as well, but notice no bubbles. I suppose I should change it anyway?

I don't want to warranty out the valve only to have the same issue. I can say that, in every case, the vendors ship this valve "bare", that is, only in the OEM parts box, with NO additional packing box or padding. Just as it sits on the shelf. I cannot help but wonder if the valves are being damaged in some way during transit.

Check the tubing, check everything. Its going to take time, patience, and be a little messy. It seems very unlikely to have more than one leaky valve.
