Model Number: MHW8630WH1 Brand: Maytag Age: 1-5 years
This washer, based on google searches, is notorious for mold/mildew growing in the dispenser drawer. I first attempted to remove the mold/mildew with brushes etc. When this didn't solve the lack of softener dispensing I broke down and bought a brand new drawer (w11524106) and installed it. The softener is still not dispensing. Mind you the channel on the bottom of the drawer is brand new and clear. There is no clog. I no longer am putting softener in the compartment yet it is now full of water after each cycle. It's obvious the pump must be working based on the water in the compartment. I am at my wit's end. Has anyone run into this before?
A couple of things of note: 1) I now remove the drawer after each cycle to allow the component to dry out in an effort to avoid mold/mildew buildup. 2) The Bleach and Detergent are dispensed properly

Took a chance and replaced the cold water inlet valve. That fixed the problem. Must have been the original mold/mildew blockage that caused the valve to go bad. We now pull the drawer out after every load to allow the area to dry out.
