i had the neighbor bring over an old whirlpool cabrio washer for me to mess with. it had a lid lock that would not clear and some faults. i could not get in into any modes.

the board number is w10253361 so i got the same board from ebay that was said to come from a good machine. well i put it in and i calibrated the board and got it into manual and auto test modes, but in manual it would only agitate in the cw direction and in auto mode it ran the tests completely but the same only agitate in the cw direction. it would spin out.

so the tech manual it said to test the shifter solenoid circuit so in doing that i manage to short the board to the point that it lost the 13 volts

so i found the old board had a bad cap so i took the same cap from the burnt board and put it in the old board.

now the old board would go into all the functions. i calibrated the old board back to the machine and
ran the manual and autotests it ran the autotests thru completely it agitated both directions and spun out. but the times were faster than the book said. but in the manual mode, i got it as far as drain and then nothing. no, agitate no spin. but i did get lots of f3 e2 errors.

so if it runs in the autotest thru all the functions do you think it is good to try out? i did not have any water connected to the machine and i want to test run it with cold water only but that f3 e2 fault will return because there is no hot water seen.

but can someone tell me why in the manual test mode i could not get it to run the agitate or spin tests but with the new board it did. but it does run all the functions in the auto mode test? maybe i need to run the calibrate test again? maybe it did not fully calibrate?

thanks
