I have a Frigidaire FRT17L3FW5 fridge out in my garage and this winter I noticed that the freezer was no longer cold enough to keep things frozen.

What I've found is that I cannot get the compressor to turn on by adjusting the cold adjustment in the freezer.

I can get the compressor to turn on by adjusting the cold adjustment in the fridge at which point cooling is happening in the freezer as well as the fridge.

So it seems like I'm only getting cooling in the freezer when the compressor runs for the fridge. Since my garage hovers around 40-50 degrees most of the winter it makes sense that the fridge hasnt been turning the compressor on enough to keep things freezing in the freezer.

Any ideas at what the cause might be to my issue?

Thanks, Dan
