Hi all. I have a Frigidaire FHS2622MSJ side-by-side fridge/freezer that came with my house 7 years ago. I've begun noticing that the bottom of the freezer side, under the slide-out plastic drawer, has a slow but steady layer of ice building up. I tap it and break out the ice every few days. Here are the steps I've tried for troubleshooting:
Removed light bulb - thinking maybe it was staying on and melting ice in ice tray?
Turned off ice maker - thinking maybe it was leaking when filling with water?
Emptied ice maker - thinking maybe ice was melting?
None of the above steps changed anything.
Right behind the slide-out drawer is a grate (in front of the evaporator?) and I see a lot of ice building up behind and under it. I think that's where the water for the ice is coming from, but I haven't emptied the freezer and taken off the panel in front of it yet.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
TIA,
Brian
