I have a Maytag Washer, LAW9400AAW that blows the fuse when you shut the lid.
Two weeks ago I replaced the belts. It ran fine at that time even completing a new load. A couple of days later I'm preparing a load; select cycle and fill level, pull knob to start fill. Add detergent, slowly add garments. Normal so far. The instant i shut the lid, the 1A bushman fuse blows.
I tried several sequences and the fuse only blows when you shut the lid. The switch looks fine, the button engages as it should. It doesn't matter if you shut the lid immediately upon starting to fill, after if fills, or before it fills. If the lid is closed and you pull the knob, the fuse blows.
I've reset all connections and searched the harness for damaged wires. Since it blows before the motor would engage, I've reasoned it's not in the motor.
What am I not tracking.

Now that I dig further it aligns with a lid switch failure.
I'll work that angle and post an update.
