The washer with work through the cycles but now when it gets to spin cycle the agitator stays engaged causing clothes to hang on agitator and drag on drum.

The transmission has a couple of parts that have worn out or are failing. It used to be possible to get the parts and rebuild the transmission. The parts are no longer available. Now days you would need a new transmission. https://www.appliancepar...n-3360629-ap3096209.html

Thank You!! Guess approx 25 years on original transmission isn't to bad. Found a used transmission and that did the trick. Thanks again.

Apparently you took good care of your washer and never overloaded it. 25 years is a really good achievement.
