Small pieces of plastic came out of the chute...ice cubes are fine, no problem. I think something broke, whatever makes the crushed ice. Do I need to replace the entire ice maker unit, or is this something I could repair myself with parts? If it's too difficult or complicated I'll just stick with the cubes, but it would be nice to have the crushed option!

From the GE website, I was able to get the original ice maker part WR30X0327, but they don't make it anymore. It says it was replaced by WR30X10093, but I see a lot of consumer complaints about the durability of the replacement.

Any ideas and/or recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!
