Hello!

I am having some issues with my whirlpool side by side fridge, model number ED5GTGXNQ13. I came home from a weekend vacation and everything in my fridge and freezer was warm and the fridge was not running. From what I had found, it seemed like the defrost timer had gotten stuck in defrost mode so I turned the timer and my fridge started right up! I then replaced the timer. I believe I hooked it up correctly by putting the new black wire on terminal 1, which is the second terminal in from the right side, and my fridge ran great for about 2 or 3 days! I came home from work one day and items in the freezer weren't completely thawed, but they seemed warmer than items should get. My freezer seems to be getting too warm, turning my ice cream into soup, and defrosting some of my ice, during the defrost cycle. What could cause this? Bad thermistor? Cold control? The coils are not a solid block of ice so I know the heater is working, just too well. What regulates the freezer temperature during defrost? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
