Hey all,
I have a Fridgidaire mod FPUH19D7LF1 upright freezer. It will not go into defrost. I installed a new control board but the problem still exists. I checked the refrigerant charge and that is good. I ohmed out the defrost heater and got a 25 ohm reading. I removed the defrost terminator. At room temperature the switch is open. I cooled it to below freezing and the switch closed. I kept my ohm meter on it and watched as it warmed up. I heard it click and the switch opened. So, I'm not sure what the problem is.
1. Can anyone tell me how to force it into a defrost cycle to see if the heater is coming on?
2. Is it possible that the terminator is working intermittently? It's cheap enough to replace but before I order one I'd like to know if I need a new heater.

Any help is appreciated.
Thx!
