The lid switch failed on my Kenmore washer 110.22872100. Watched a few videos and replaced the switch no problem. However, while I had the cabinet off I notice the disgusting black residue outside the spin basket and inside the outer tub.

Watched more videos and successfully removed and cleaned the spin basket but I noticed some residual water at the bottom of the plastic outer tub. At the drain hole it's probably about 1/2" above.

Question: Should I replace the pump? I thought it would drain ALL the water from the tub.
