Hello:
My water dispenser was working fine. It was time to change the water filter. After replacing it as I usually do every 6 months, the fridge dispenses water but after a few seconds, it begins sputtering. It makes a jack hammer type of sound. I found that if I open the water filter latch and re-engage it, it will momentarily repair the water flow. However, the sputtering then returns after a few minutes. Any ideas on how to repair this or troubleshoot the issue? Thank you for any help!

How did you resolve the issue? I'm experiencing the same now.

Hello. Thank you for your question. After replacing the water filter the water system has to be flushed. Use a sturdy container to depress and hold the water dispenser lever for 5 seconds, then release it for 5 seconds. Repeat until water begins to flow. Once water begins to flow, continue depressing and releasing the dispenser lever (5 seconds on, 5 seconds off) until a total of 3 gal. (12 L) has been dispensed. This will flush air from the filter and water dispensing system, and prepare the water filter for use. Additional flushing may be required in some households. As air is cleared from the system, water may spurt out of the dispenser.
Let us know how it worked for you.
