I have a GDR20DSEARBS fridge freezer and was told that the ice maker was an IM-6D.

I was then told that the IM-6D was discontinued and replaced by the IM-6 which I ordered.

The IM-6 has a 6 pin plug and my freezer has a 2 pin plug.

Other than that important item the instructions and mounting points etc. all seem to line up.

Any idea what the right model is for my freezer?

The 6 pin plug on the ice maker only uses 4 of the pins and I know there are 6 to 4 pin adapters that I can buy. But why 4 wires? I would expect live and neutral and that be about it, well maybe a ground as well.

Can I modify the 6 pin, 4 wires to a 2 wire connection?

Any help would be great, thanks.
