Of course, the washing machine quit on us. After some checking, thought it might be the gearcase. Have the washing machine apart and gearcase out, and I can’t turn the agitator shaft, but wonder if that is normal? I can turn the input shaft easily.

The problem occurred when machine was full of clothes,a nd had pumped water into the tub. But nothing happened after that. It sounded like the motor was running, but no drum spin, no agitator, and no pumping water out.
