My whirlpool refrigerator has been shutting off and tripping my circuit breaker in my garage. I have testsed the breaker and it is fine. When I reset the defrost timer everything comes on and works fine freezer and fridge. Then 8 hrs later the refrigerator shuts off and trips the circuit breaker again. Thinking that I had a bad defrost timer that was not bringing it out of defrost, I replaced the timer with a model 482493 timer. The exact same problem happened and after 8 hrs it shuts off and trips the breaker. I am at a loss and don't know what to test for next. Please I appreciate any help you can give. Thank you for your time.

Sounds like a shorted defrost heater or thermostat,or possibly the wiring to them. I think that's an 8 hr timer, so every 8 hrs it goes into defrost, if there is a short somewhere it'll trip the breaker.
Pull the back wall of the freezer off and look for any broken or corroded wires or terminals. If you have a multimeter test the circuit.
