I'm going to try to repair my washing machine which is now standing in a huge puddle of water after months of sounding like an airplane taking off during the spin cycle. I know I need to replace the bearings. However, the people at Sears say the bearings can't be bought separately and come with the outer tub. So I need to purchase the powdered tub and that way I'll fix the bearings. The people at parts Dr. , say Sears is wrong and the bearings are in the gearcase. I need to purchase the gearcase to get the bearings. The Sears person was offended and said that parts Dr. was wrong. Who do I believe??? I have a Kenmore model number : 11021302013

There aren't any bearings in the tub.
You will need the gear case.

You will likely also need the lower tub seal.
