Is it possible to repair a buggered touch panel? Feels like it should be but I've only found ONE video online showing someone fixing one on a microwave by heating it up with a heat gun and just kneeding it a bit.

I've got a Jenn-Air range with a touch panel that tests just fine EXCEPT any buttons that use the #4 lead press to about 4MOhms instead of the 350Ohms that others result in. I've inspected the ribbon coming from the panel with a looking glass but can't see any cracks in the #4 lead. I can't really imagine how the lead would have failed under the panel. I'd have thought some moisture or dirt in one of the buttons, but not every button that happens to use #4 (they aren't all next to each other).

Before I try peeling off the panel with heat and potentially destroying it (stupid replacement part is almost $200 and a couple weeks' wait) are there any methods known to fix this situation?

Well, I found the small spot where the trace had corroded. No idea why since it seems clean around it. Unfortunately can't fix it cause the trace is printed on so thin that by the time you get through the plastic layer above it, you've already scraped thru the the trace, so no way to get contact on it. Overprice new membrane button assembly it is. Not a happy camper.

I bet it would! Didn't know such a thing exists. Will see if I can get my hand on one locally (no time to order from amazon, esp over the border). Thanks for the idea.

Anyone know the pinouts for the membrane switches on the JDR8880RDB? (and several other models no doubt) I may be able to use it as a substitute part since the one for my stove isn't available anywhere.
