My Maytag Electric range is 14 months old. Tonight when baking brownies at 350 degrees, I smelled burning and opened the oven to see the edges were totally burnt after only 10 minutes in the oven and the middle was still liquid. My smoke alarm even went off. The oven was soooo hot and there was a distinct odor coming from inside (not just the burnt brownies). The entire oven was extremely hot for a long time afterwards, including the stove top. I have an extended warranty with the well known store where I bought it and will be calling them for service as soon as possible but I was wondering if you could provide me with any input on this. I have unplugged it as I am concerned about an electrical fire. Thanks so much for your input!
