The drain pump on this front load washer is stuck on.

It turns on immediately as soon as the power is turned on.

Which means it never gets to the point where there's enough water in the machine to start running.

Get the "NF", no fill error code.

Is this a problem in the main control board (PCB)? Or can it be the pump itself?

It is doubtful the pump is at fault, it only turns on when the control board relay sends power to it.
Try this one thing before replacing the control board.
Unplug your machine for ten minutes. Then plug it back in and try a drain and spin cycle. The PCB board may be stuck in a drain cycle and might reset after a period of time. If not then Try replacing the control board.

As I always suggest, purchase a power surge protector that offers a warranty and use it for your washing machine, just as you would protect your home PC or Smart TV.

Hey thanks for your input.

But just to get terms straight. The PCB Sub assembly is the board that is the smarts of the machine under the input panel and dial in the top front of the machine...and the replacement part is the one you had a link to.

There's also a power board with transformers, relays, large capacitors that drives the motor turning the drum as well as sends power to the drain pump. I think that Samsung calls this the PCB Main assembly. This would be replacement part

You mention control board in your post...which one did you mean by "control board"?

Do you think that it's more likely that the fault is in the PCB Sub assembly? Or could it be in the PCB Main assembly?

I checked...the PCB Main is certainly sending 120 V to the drain motor as soon as machine is turned on. But I don't know how to check if the PCB Sub is sending a signal to turn on the relay on the power board to drive the drain motor.

Thanks again for your advice!

You are right. I had clicked on the wrong link but by saying control board I mean the main PCB. For your model number version XAA-0003 you actually need this part DC92-00254H. The H means that the main PCB (control board) is programed for your machine.

The one in your post is DC92-00254A which is for version XAA-0000 and if you were to try that board you might likely receive a mismatched error...

Thanks for the clarification...would have gotten the wrong part! Will get the replacement and see if it fixes the problem.
