I have a Maytag Centennial Top Load Washer Model#MVWC500VW0 that won't spin at all. I used to be able to get it to do the final spin if I had a very light load by wiggling the tub around or manually forcing the tub to spin a little. Pretty sure it hasn't been doing the short spin at the end of the wash cycle as it's draining the dirty water out either. Also leaks water out the bottom of the machine. Other people who use the machine were constantly overloading it before these problems started. Before it quit spinning this final time, the washer was on a spin cycle, and when it stopped, i heard a loud twang that sounded like the tub hit the inside of washer. It had moved the washer to where the right front corner was now pointing forward -like the washer twisted to the left.
I need help in what order I should check things out to determine the cause, or the service manual download link would be a big help. Hoping it's not an expensive part.

It sounds as if the coupler has broken and the loud twang and movement may be due to the brake engaging suddenly as a result.
Here is the part number which includes a how to video.

Watch the video to see how to check the status of yours.

As for the leak, when you disassemble the machine to check the coupler look for the location of the leak, then reply back if your unsure as to why the leaks occurring.
