Hi,
I have a whirlpool washer (its very old) but its been in a summer house. It works great but now its started to leak. Watching some youtube videos I see its a donut seal under the tub. Since the machine is so old I wanted to see what parts I can replace while I'm in there.
1. Bearings in the spin shaft (and how do I get them out)
2. Outer Tub
3. Wig-Wag
4. Transmission oil
Let me know if I'm out of my mind of not. I just like these and want them to last another 40 years.

4. Transmission oil The bearings are hard to remove, they have to be "pressed" out or in. If my memory serves me right. They can fail, but that usually means its time for a new machine. The outer tub unbolts after you remove the agitator and spin basket and by this time is probably pretty rusty if not rusted through. The wig wag isn't to bad to work on, but usually they don't fail as much as the wires to the coils break off from constant movement. The transmissions hold a lot of oil and usually doesn't leak too much. If its leaking a lot, there is probably something wrong inside it. I would pull the agitator and basket to see how bad the rust is. You might be in for a shock.
