Our less than one year old Kenmore Elite chest freezer shut off while we were on vacation. We lost everything in it. Including all the fish from our Alaska fishing trip. You have to go through three steps to shut this freezer off and it starts back up on power failures. I unplugged the freezer and plugged it back in and it restarted. Sears would not help us out with warranty so buyer beware. I am trying to understand what would cause this freezer to shut itself off. Thanks

One more thing to add is the lid doesn't seem to have a lot of seal pressure on it. Even when you lock it. If the lid doesn't seal properly will this cause it to shut down. Again Sears was of absolutely no help and they won't stand behind their warranty. This freezer is only 8 months old. Thanks
