I have an LG front loading machine. I noticed water underneath and when I took off the back cover, I notice water dripping from the hot water inlet valve. Has anyone heard of this before? I am wonder how difficult it is to remove the top to access the valve. The round circle in the picture is actually a drip of water. Any ideas or suggestions. Also a part number would be great! Thanks! Jimh64 attached the following image(s):

Hello Jimh64, The hot water valve Part number: AP4441935
can be easily accessed by unplugging the washer from its' power supply and removing the main top. The main top is removed by locating the screws at the rear of the unit retaining the main top toward the front of the machine. Once removed, the main top will need to be slid rearward a few inches before it can be lifted up and off of the machine. The water valves can split and emit a fine spray of water. Once the top is off you should check for a spray of water since the water could be sprayed from the cold valve Part number: AP5986564
and dripping from the hot valve. This would be done with the unit unplugged but the water supply faucets turned on.

I have a GE washer WHDSR316GWW that is dripping water into the tub of the machine even when it is turned off. Any idea how to fix this? It is only 6 years old and out of warranty (of course.): Thank you.

Is this difficult to replace? For a woman, I have some mechanical knowledge, but not a pro. Thank you.

Hello Ckfun , This is not terribly hard if you are able to pull the machine out to access the rear. Watch the video and if you decide to try it, wear gloves to protect yourself from the sharp edges. Be sure to check for leaks before moving the machine back into position.

Thank you. Hello Ckfun, When a water valve leaks water past the seal, it can be caused by hard water deposits, (mineral deposits), or debris in the water supply. If the issue were low water pressure supplied to the machine it would leak all of the time so if the water pressure is found to be sufficient, (between 40 and 120 lbs p.s.i.), changing the water valve will correct the issue.
